US Passport Renewal
Good News! You can do your US Passport Renewal by mail if your current passport meets the following conditions: - Is undamaged
- Was issued when you were 16 or older
- Was issued within the last 15 years
- Was issued in your current name or you can document any legal name change.
How to Renew your Passport by mail. - Go to https://pptform.state.gov/?submit=COMPLETE+FORM+DS-82+Online and complete and print the form.
- Sign and date the form on page 1.
- Mail the completed form along with the following:
Mail your passport application and any personal documents using a trackable delivery method.
In order to protect the contents of your mailing from the elements throughout the delivery process, mail your passport application and any personal documents using a secure means of packaging, such as a Tyvek envelope.
If you currently reside abroad, (in Canada, you can mail your renewal application) you should renew your passport at the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
